This Covenant was taken so that the believers would remain loyal to ‘Abdu’l-Bahá and not lacerate Bahá’u’lláh’s blessed throat, meaning His blessed Cause. However, they completely shut their eyes to fairness, committed misdeeds, and indulged in grievous injustice.
